Vintage Valentine Junk Journal Page: Easy Layout

Create a sweet vintage Valentine junk journal page with an easy layout you can copy again and again—perfect for scraps, tags, and quick cozy crafting.

What This Page Looks Like

This is my go-to “no-stress” junk journal layout for Valentine’s Day: a vintage-style page that looks layered and charming, but it’s built from simple blocks you can repeat with whatever scraps you have.

Supplies You’ll Need

  • One journal page (or cardstock background)
  • 3–5 paper scraps (book page, sheet music, kraft, doily, patterned paper)
  • 1 focal piece (heart, vintage Valentine image, label, or tag)
  • Glue stick or double-sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Optional: ink pad, washi tape, twine, small stickers

The Easy 5-Block Layout

Think of your page as 5 simple areas:

  1. Background layer (one large piece)
  2. Left column strip (tall scrap)
  3. Center focal (heart or image)
  4. Label/title area (small strip)
  5. Bottom cluster (tiny scraps + tag)

Step-by-Step Assembly

  1. Start with the background. Glue down your largest paper scrap (book page or music sheet works great).
  2. Add the left strip. A tall scrap on the left gives instant “layout” structure.
  3. Place your focal in the center. Heart shape, vintage Valentine picture, or a tag—this is the “look at me” piece.
  4. Add a label/title strip. This can be a small banner or a label shape (even plain paper).
  5. Finish with a bottom cluster. Layer 2–3 tiny scraps in the bottom corner and tuck in a small tag or ticket shape.

Vintage Valentine Add-Ons

Pick 1–3 so it doesn’t get busy

  • Lightly ink the edges (instant vintage)
  • Add a tiny bow or twine
  • Staple one corner (looks super authentic)
  • Add a mini “tucked in” envelope
  • Use a doily edge as a border

Take these six shots (they perform well):
